We’ve all been there. You’re ready to share your expertise on LinkedIn, you open a new post, type a few words, and then… you stop. Writer’s block hits. You know what you want to say, but you’re not sure how to phrase it, or you need a quick fact to back up your point.
What if you had a research assistant and a co-writer built right into your workflow, ready to help you complete your thoughts intelligently?
Today, we’re thrilled to introduce a game-changing new feature in ALwrity: Assistive Writing. It's your new AI co-pilot, designed to supercharge your content creation, eliminate writer's block, and help you craft high-quality LinkedIn posts faster than ever.
What is Assistive Writing? The Magic Explained
Think of Assistive Writing as an intelligent partner that helps you write. As you type your LinkedIn post in ALwrity, our advanced AI reads and understands your context. It then performs real-time web research to find relevant information and suggests the perfect next sentence or paragraph to continue your thought.
Each suggestion is more than just text; it’s a complete thought-starter that includes:
Contextually Relevant Text: Professionally written content that seamlessly continues your post.
A Confidence Score: See how sure the AI is about its suggestion.
Verifiable Sources: Clickable links to the articles and data the AI used, so you can check facts and build credibility with your audience.
It’s not about writing for you; it’s about writing with you.
Getting Started: Your First AI-Assisted Post in 3 Simple Steps
Ready to see it in action? It couldn’t be easier.
Step 1: Flip the Switch
Open the LinkedIn Writer in ALwrity and look for the "Assistive Writing" toggle in the header. Click it, and it will turn blue to show it's active.
(Image: A screenshot showing the "Assistive Writing" toggle in the ALwrity header, switched to the ON position.)
Step 2: Start Typing
Begin writing your post as you normally would. To give the AI enough context to provide a helpful suggestion, you'll need to write at least 5 words.
Step 3: Pause and Receive
After you’ve typed your first few words, simply pause for 5 seconds. A suggestion card will magically appear near your cursor, ready for you to review. You can either click "Accept" to insert the text directly into your post or "Dismiss" to ignore it.
That's it! Your first suggestion is always automatic.
You’re in Control: How to Get More Suggestions
We want Assistive Writing to be helpful, not intrusive. That's why after the first automatic suggestion, you are in complete control.
You’ll see a simple prompt: "ALwrity can contextually continue writing."
Whenever you want another idea, just click the "Continue writing" button. The AI will generate a new suggestion based on what you've written. This manual approach ensures you only get help when you ask for it, preventing unwanted interruptions and keeping the feature efficient.
Pro-Tips for Getting the Best Results
To make your AI co-pilot even smarter, follow these simple best practices:
Be Specific: The more detailed your starting sentence is, the better the suggestions will be.
Instead of: "AI is changing business."
Try: "AI is transforming customer service with chatbots and predictive analytics."
Trust, but Verify: The source links are your superpower! Always click them to ensure the information is accurate and comes from a reputable source. This is key to building your own authority on LinkedIn.
Speak the Lingo: The AI understands professional and industry-specific terms. Don't be afraid to use them!
Make It Your Own: Use the suggestions as a starting point. Once you accept a suggestion, edit it to match your unique voice, tone, and style.
We’ve Got Your Back (Quick Q&A)
Q: Why am I not seeing any suggestions?
A: Remember the "5 and 5" rule! Make sure you've written at least 5 words and have paused for 5 seconds. Also, double-check that the Assistive Writing toggle is enabled (it should be blue).
Q: What does the "API quota exceeded" message mean?
A: To ensure a great experience for everyone, our free plan includes 50 AI suggestions per day. This message means you've hit your daily limit. Your quota will automatically reset in 24 hours.
Q: What if the AI can't find relevant sources?
A: If you see a "No relevant sources found" message, it means the AI is struggling with your topic. Try rephrasing your sentence or being more specific with your language.
